Watson Straub founded AdvisorBridge (originally WM Straub Group) in 2009 after leaving LPL Financial. He and his team at AdvisorBridge have assisted hundreds of top Advisors take their business to the next level.
AdvisorBridge offers the financial advisor an unbiased approach to finding a broker dealer that is best suited for their practice and their firm’s specific needs. Leveraging 16 years of active broker dealer recruiting experience AdvisorBridge has the experience and the benefit of un-biased objectivity that is vital to a successful broker dealer search. Representing only the finest broker dealers as well as custodians AdvisorBridge creates opportunities for advisors by identifying which platforms will maximize the growth and profitability of the advisors’ business.
Before forming AdvisorBridge, Watson was Regional Director of Business Development at LPL Financial, the industry’s largest independent broker dealer. Watson joined LPL in August of 2002 as Regional Director to run the PA, NJ and DE territory. In 2007, Watson was promoted after multiple years of outstanding recruiting performance and award recognition.
From 2001 through 2002, Watson was Director of Marketing at Amidex, rebuilding the distribution channel after the events of 9/11 forced relocation from Manhattan. While at Amidex funds, Watson was also an integral part in successfully launching the new Cancer Innovation Fund.
From 1997 to 2001, Watson was a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Conshohocken, PA where he earned the Financial Planning Specialist and Managed Money Specialist designations from Morgan Stanley’s national training program.
Through his years of experience as both a retail financial advisor and a top recruiter for the nation’s largest independent broker dealer, Watson has developed a comprehensive, 360 degree view of the financial services industry. Watson’s experience provides him with a unique understanding of the needs and concerns of the financial advisor contemplating a transition or a succession plan.
Watson enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and sailing on the Chesapeake. He is married and has a 3-year-old son, Will.
